Sacramento melodic post-metal quartet blending crushing riffs, feral growls, and expressive guitar solos - featuring members of Astral Cult, Flower Violence, and Rainbow City Park.

Band Origin

Born in the wake of Astral Cult, Oceans of Ash began with Adam Moore (drums) and Chris Mahon (guitar) before adding Jake Miller (guitar) and Chase Madson (bass/vocals) to craft what would become Smoke Dreams. Drawing on influences like Russian Circles, Alcest, Pallbearer, Cult of Luna, and many other legends of atmosphere and heaviness, the band merges the cinematic weight of post-metal, the raw intensity of blackened death vocals, and the groove-driven pulse of stoner metal. With the later addition of Ryan Williams (guitar), Oceans of Ash solidified their lineup and set their sights on bringing extreme, melodic post-metal to the Northern California scene.
